BIOGRAPHY
I am a graphic designer who specializes in motion graphics, video editing, and special effects. I have several diplomas and degrees in Directing for Film, 3D Animation, Graphic Design and Fine Art. I attended Vancouver Film School and Emily Carr University. I have master level skills (over 25 years of professional experience) using Photoshop, After Effects and Maya 3D Animation software. I write, storyboard, edit and create the special effects for most of my productions.
I started my professional career in design in 1993, working at a prestigious Investor Relations company. I created many logos, annual reports and multimedia slideshows for large publicly traded companies participating in the IPO (Initial Public Offering) market. I developed my design and animation skills and learned how to use many key software packages at this time, while helping these companies raise billions of dollars in share value.
I then learned web design and continued to advance my skills in Photoshop and After Effects. I graduated from Emily Carr University of Art and Design, and completed my grad project which was a movie trailer for a movie concept I created called "Aftermath". It combined 3D animation with hand drawn characters.
I worked for over 15 years with the advertising agency me&ideas inc., and continue to work with them today as Creative Director. I have worked with dozens of amazing clients, large and small, and directed TV commercials and created master visuals, logos, product renders, animated digital ads, and worked in every aspect of advertising campaigns. I work closely with our clients, project managers and the president of the agency, brainstorming and developing great creative ideas that served our clients very well. I learned a great deal about how to start a creative idea, foster it, and to collaborate with other designers, suppliers and creative people to bring it to fruition.
I continue to work in advertising, animation, and visual effects. I have directed and produced dozens of TV commercials and social media animations for some of the largest brands in the world such as Miller Genuine Draft, Shaw Cable, Telus Communications, Cisco Systems, Coors Light, Nutrl Vodka and White Spot Restaurants. I have produced title sequences for TV shows and movies. I draw comic books and write stories in my spare time.
